Meet the 2024 Fair Queen
Miss Abby Bucher was selected as the 2024 Miss Shippensburg Fair Queen at the Fair's annual Queen Contest on Monday, July 22, 2024.
Abby is is the 18-year-old daughter of Steve and Pam Bucher of Shippensburg. Abby’s grandparents are Joe and Polly Martin of Shippensburg and Steve and Bonnie Bucher of Chambersburg. Abby is a 2024 graduate of CASHS where she was the captain of the Girls Track and Field team, member of National Honor Society, Christian Fellowship Club, FFA, the Mini-Thon Executive Team, and the Cooperative Education, and Early-to-College Programs. Abby has been a dancer for Dance Academy XIV for 9 years and is currently a dance instructor for Mar-Le-Nie Dance Studio. She is also a manager at Totem Pole Playhouse. As an active member of the Presbyterian Church of Falling Spring, Abby teaches Sunday School, works in the nursery, volunteers with the food bank and is involved with the youth group. Abby was a member of AnnLee Photography’s 2024 Senior Model Team. Abby is also active in 4-H. In her free time, Abby enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, photography, playing games, and watching sporting events. In the fall, Abby will be attending Shippensburg University and majoring in Elementary Education. Her sponsor is the Shippensburg Area Athletic Association.
Abby has a long but exciting year ahead of her as Fair Queen, and is excited to participate in many parades and community events, as well as in the 2025 Pennsylvania State Fair Queen Competition in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
Lizzie Yoder, 2024 Fair Sweetheart
2024 Fair Sweetheart
Miss Elizabeth (“Lizzie”) Yoder serves as the 2024 Shippensburg Fair Sweetheart and alternate to the 2024 Fair Queen.
Lizzie is the 16-year-old daughter of Samuel and Barbara Yoder of Chambersburg. Lizzie as she is more commonly known as, is entering her senior year at Shalom Christian Academy in Chambersburg. Lizzie is a host at the Chambersburg Red Lobster where she enjoys the work environment and interacting with guests as they enter the restaurant. Some of Lizzie’s hobbies include photography, tutoring elementary students, spending time with friends, and being active in my youth group amongst other things. In the future. Lizzie looks forward to becoming a mom and raising children. At the present time, Lizzie is still undecided on what she would like to do as her future career but as of now she is just trusting God in the process. Lizzie is sponsored by the Majestic at Whiskey Run Venue, Chambersburg.
Along with the Fair Queen and rest of the royalty court, Lizzie represents the Fair and town of Shippensburg in many events throughout the year including parades, children’s events, and other community activities!
